Lumineers are thin shells that are bonded to your teeth, dramatically changing their size, shape, and color. They are similar to porcelain veneers but much thinner and therefore, do not require the extensive removal of tooth enamel that is customary with traditional veneers. In fact, when patients opt for Lumineers, there no shots or drilling and because of this, Lumineers are completely reversible. Lumineers are offered by cosmetic dentist, Dr. Kelvin White, DMD and last more than 20 years.
Lumineers Placed by a Cosmetic Dentist in Paducah, KY
This procedure is performed by our cosmetic dentist in two visits. During your initial visit, an impression is taken of your teeth from which to create your custom-designed Lumineers. On your second visit, our cosmetic dentist will etch your natural teeth to ensure a strong bond with the Lumineers. The bond is set using dental cement that is hardened with special dental light. This curing process allows our cosmetic dentist to control the rate at which the bond is set so he can ensure the ideal placement. You will walk out of the office with a brand new smile.
While Lumineers correct a multitude of imperfections, the shells are so thin at 0.2 millimeters that they may not be the best solution for severely stained teeth, because the discoloration could show through. Lumineers are also not recommended for patients who grind their teeth, because they may chip their Lumineers.
If you are unhappy with your smile, contact our office to learn how you can get an instant makeover. This cosmetic dentistry procedure is simple and pain free, requiring no needles, drilling, or tooth sensitivity. Our cosmetic dentist can give you a radiant, even smile in as little as two visits.
